Description

This book consists of a literary-photographic essay that introduces to the reader the vision of a set of 24 cities of 09 countries in an innovative way. Rather than have them simply lined up one after another addressing their respective beauty, wonders and peculiarities, it follows a different pathway. As a matter of fact, it completely subverts this conventional organization in order to explore what it is being called as their convergence, congruence, contrasts and similarities through 12 thematic categories that address, for example, the seasons of the year, public parks, urban art and graffiti, monuments, museums, among others. To put it in another way, the book is in fact made up of short literary essays in 12 thematic categories and supplemented by images from 24 different cities as supporting illustrative elements of the aspects addressed in each of the texts. Based on that, the book aims at contributing to sharpen the reader’s perception and raise his/her awareness to the fact that we may indeed live in different cities and countries, but eventually, we can astonish ourselves much more with the convergences and similarities than solely with the differences.
