Hector Hugh Munro better known by the pen name Saki and also frequently as H. H. Munro, was a British writer whose witty, mischievous and sometimes macabre stories satirize Edwardian society and culture. He is considered a master of the short story. Besides his short stories (which were first published in newspapers, as was customary at the time, and then collected into several volumes), he wrote a full-length play.
It is a short story about how to choose the winner of the race , guided by the name of the horse. The story begins with portraying people who are in funds and are passionate about the horse-racing. Now it is time when they should decide which horse can become a winner. It is a difficult choice to decide which horse is better and faster. Who will a lucky person be? Who can choose a horse which is able to gain a victory? It is just a lottery that chooses a winner and a loser.
