Written in the first person with the viewpoint of a narrator who represents the entire human race throughout history, I, Humanity tells the story of what we now know about the universe and how we learned it. It begins with the ancient view of a small, flat Earth, and page-by-page shows how we've gradually awakened to the fact that we live on just one planet, orbiting one star, in a vast and amazing universe. The story ends with an inspirational message about what today's children can hope to achieve in the future. Along the way, the detailed captions that accompany the book's beautiful photographs and illustrations will help both children and adults understand our modern view of the universe.
