Unsung is the imaginative reconstruction of the life of Zachary Landry, and his transformation into Zachary Mardon. Based on true events that took place in the Northern Edmonton ghetto of Cromdale, and information gathered from intimidate interviews with Zach, Unsung follows a scrappy street-kid’s survival through an adolescence riddled with disease, violence, and the trappings of poverty. Zach’s chronicles begin in his early childhood and develop along with his understanding of the world around him, and his place in it. Zach faces harrowing, nearly crippling, losses and overcomes a full lifetime’s worth of adversity and trauma in his short years. Unsung examines and relays the obstacles Zach has successfully hurdled, and gives insight into the things he has lost along the way.
