Truly a story that reflects how life seems to be now days. Two divorced single parents, Colin struggling with a teenager, soon to be empty nester and working at his dream job as a Vet, but new boss is ruining the clinic. Teagan trying to survive a road trip with her twin 4 year old daughters and their oversized puppy, Garbage Disposal. Moving back to the house her Nonna left her in Pacific Cove, trying to put their life back together after her ex husband clean them out, losing their home and her beloved bread bakery. Hopefully moving back to the home that holds so many happy memories will help her create new ones with her twins. But things start off totally wrong! Her flaky sister has moved in unknown to her and her 1st crush, 1st love and 1st heartbreak now lives next door. There is humor throughout the book, love the antics of the twins and GD. Two things she wasn’t expecting, her sister Harley squatting in her house, and the boy whose heart she broke, Colin West, is living next door. Harley is trying to figure out her life. She doesn’t feel like she belongs anywhere, she wants to reconnect with her sister, and is trying to decide if she wants to continue her relationship with her boyfriend. Colin is a single dad and a Veterinarian. He is about to become an empty nester, and doesn’t want to get involved again with the woman who dumped him via a “Dear Colin” letter. What I liked about this book, Colin, Harley and the twins. What I had a harder time warming up to, Teagan. She is judgmental of her sister and she treated Colin poorly. She finally came around in the end, but it took a while for me to care about her. Overall an enjoyable read. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
